POR CULPA DE CHAVEZ: EL GOBIERNO BOLIVARIANO DUPLICÓ EL NÚMERO DE ESTUDIANTES DE EDUCACIÓN BÁSICA Y SECUNDARIA

Venezuela registró 7 millones 735 mil 815 estudiantes matriculados en las escuelas y liceos del país, en el período 2009-2010; lo que representa un incremento del 24%, con respecto a los últimos 10 años del Puntofijismo.

El año escolar 2009-2010 cerró con 7.735.815 estudiantes de Educación Básica y Secundaria. El 78% de esta matrícula correspondía a instituciones públicas, mientras que sólo el 22% pertenecía a centros privados.

En el período 2009-10, estuvieron habilitados 28.692 planteles y/o centros educativos, en comparación con el período 1998-99 cuando había 24.083. Es decir, 4.609 planteles más.

En el pasado inmediato, aunque algunos no lo quieren recordar, veníamos con una carga de exclusión e injusticia social, en nuestro sistema educativo. No podemos olvidar cómo en los años noventa, con medidas neoliberales, se intentaron privatizar todos los servicios públicos y, fundamentalmente, la educación.

Desde 1988 hasta el primer semestre de 1999, la matrícula educativa se incrementó en apenas 11%. Esto significa que, únicamente, 633 mil 860 estudiantes se incorporaron al sistema educativo, en esos años. En ese período, se aumentó la matrícula en menos de 64 mil niños por año.

Desde la llegada del Gobierno Revolucionario, esta matrícula se incrementó en más de un millón y medio de estudiantes; es decir, casi tres veces más que los estudiantes que se incorporaron en los últimos 10 años de la Cuarta República. Desde 1999 hasta 2009 (los primeros 10 años de la Revolución), se incrementó la matrícula a 150.269 niños/as por año.

El incremento de la matrícula obedece a la prohibición del cobro de la matrícula escolar, la prohibición de la obligatoriedad del uniforme escolar y la prohibición de la obligatoriedad del texto único.
