La Fundación Infocentro recibió en enero de 2011, el premio Unesco - Rey Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa, como reconocimiento al trabajo de alfabetización tecnológica para el adulto mayor.
La experiencia venezolana se ubicó en el primer lugar, de 49 programas presentados por 37 países, cuyo plan forma parte del Plan Nacional de Alfabetización Tecnológica.
Hasta el 15 de junio de 2011, ya iban 1.200.000 personas alfabetizadas, tecnológicamente, por la Fundación Infocentro.
En la actualidad (20 de junio 2011), hay 766 infocentros distribuidos en todo el país. De éstos, 492 se encuentran conectados al Satélite “Simón Bolívar”. Aparte, hay 28 infomóviles.
Logros 2010:
Para el año 2010, se incorporaron 97 nuevos infocentros, en todo el territorio nacional.Se alcanzó la cifra de casi 11 millones (10.971.345) de visitas atendidas en los infocentros.
El total acumulado de personas atendidas por los infocentros, hasta el año 2010, fue de 3 millones 380 mil 43 personas.
