SATÉLITE “SIMÓN BOLÍVAR” GARANTIZA DESPLIEGUE DE 2055 ANTENAS PARA SERVICIOS DE TRANSMISIÓN Y RECEPCIÓN.

Desde el año 2008, cuando se realizó el lanzamiento del Satélite "Simón Bolívar", Venesat 1, se han beneficiado 450 mil personas con el despliegue 2 mil 55 antenas para servicios de transmisión y recepción.

Los servicios de conexión a Internet, tele-educación y telemedicina, así como, red de comunicaciones terrestres, radares, entre otros, benefician las áreas de educación, alimentación, defensa, salud, economía, gobierno, energía, Cantv, seguridad, medios, y a la población en general.

Mil 73 instituciones educativas, escuelas, bibliotecas, centros de capacitación, misiones, así como, 691 hospitales, ambulatorios, módulos de Barrio Adentro, Centros Diagnósticos Integrales, Centros de Alta Tecnología, Salas de Rehabilitación Integral y otros servicios reciben los servicios del satélite.

Este primer satélite fue lanzado, en octubre de 2008, desde el Centro Espacial Xichang, en China, para garantizar la soberanía tecnológica del país.

El presidente Hugo Chávez anunció la firma de un acuerdo con la República Popular de China, para colocar un segundo satélite en órbita. Éste será un satélite de observación terrenal, que permitirá el estudio de los suelos y del clima.

This first satellite was launched in October 2008 from Xichang Space Center in China to ensure the country's technological sovereignty.

President Hugo Chavez has signed an agreement with the People's Republic of China, to put a second satellite in orbit. This will be an earth observation satellite, which will allow the study of soils and climate.
